Replacement Konica AR Body Caps and Where to Find Them!

There are many people who still love and use Konica film cameras—myself included. Whereas it is still possible to get OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) body caps, but doing so is no longer quite as straightforward as it once was, with availability and condition varying widely depending on where and how you search for them. In other words there are a couple of caveats.

The Caveats

The first is that they are hard to come by. Konica’s cameras were extremely popular in the consumer market with Canon and Nikon capturing the professional market.

You would think with that being the case there would be many available but it isn’t so. I buy and sell a lot of cameras and almost without exception when I buy a Konica there is no body cap. As many times it’s a camera I will be cleaning up and selling on I don’t want to spend $20 for an OEM part.

Which brings me to the second caveat. OEM body caps are expensive. There are many online markets where you can possibly find OEM caps but they tend to have a relatively high price tag attached. I have actually seen body caps advertised at a higher price than I paid for the camera. Which is… ludicrous!

So, Where Can You Find Konica AR Body Caps?

If OEM caps are expensive the answer is to look for third party 3D printed caps. Do they work as well as OEM caps? Yes, absolutely. Whenever I come across what I consider to be a good source of a harder-to-find part I usually list it here on the website.

So, you can find 3D printed Konica AR body caps on Whatnot from the seller vintageimage88. This Konica AR Body Cap link will take you directly to the listing.

I have purchased from this seller many times now and he is definitely reputable. Other body cap 3D prints are available: Minolta, FD, Yashica, Nikon F, etc.
